Massage Techniques

Swedish Massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body.

Deep Tissue Massage affects the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. These techniques require more advanced training and a more thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology to be able to work more deeply than surface musculature.

Neuromuscular Therapy releases endorphins and aids recovery from acute and chronic pain syndromes by utilizing specific massage therapy, including the pressure of trigger points.

Kriya Massage combines energy work, Swedish, neuromuscular, and somato-emotional release work done in a connected smooth pattern. It helps the client adjust and transform programmed responses to life, bringing healing.

Reflexology is similar to acupressure principles, using zones on the feet to stimulate body organs and relieve areas of congestion. Especially useful in stress and emotional disorders, reflexology works where an area of the body cannot bear direct manipulation.

Hot Stone Massage uses warm, smooth basalt lava rocks positioned on the body. Some are gently moved about with light pressure to allow a deeper state of relaxation and greater circulation.

Cupping uses silicon cups that bring circulation to and remodel Myofascial tissue below the skin to generate physical change. They are applied to different areas of the body and create a vacuum of pressure which can be moved slowly over the area of pain.

Graston Technique uses specially designed instruments to gently massage/scrape the skin. This soft tissue mobilization technique is particularly effective for treating scar tissue and muscle recovery.

Grigorian Method is an effective, unique body treatment that focuses on the human skeleton. The method employs a systematic treatment using joint movement and range of motion in combination with pressure points exercised upon a fully-relaxed, passive client.

More Subtle Therapies

CranioSacral therapy gently assists the natural movement of membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord from the skull to the tailbone. This therapy can ease imbalance and remove blockages that underlie sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities, improving the functioning of the central nervous system.

SomatoEmotional Release (SER) helps rid the mind and body of residual effects of accident, injury or emotional trauma. Through SER, the therapist engages in imaging and dialoging techniques that can guide the patient through burdensome, past emotions. The therapist works to shift the held energy and return the body to improved function.

Myofascial Release: Fascia is a thin tissue that covers all the organs of the body, every muscle, and every fiber within each muscle. Injured muscle fiber causes short, tight fibers and tension in the fascia, extending pain throughout the myofascial structure, sometimes causing pain far from the original site. Myofascial Release stretches and releases the fascia of these Myofascial Trigger Points, guided by feedback that the therapist feels from the patient’s body.

Trigger Point Myotherapy consists of trigger point compression, myomassage, passive stretching, and a regime of corrective exercises to reduce myofascial pain and increase range of motion, strength, and endurance.

Eccentric Loading is a state-of-the-art technique in which the therapist and the client work as partners, through breathing and gentle contraction, in helping a painful and restricted muscle to expand its capacity. This technique realigns collagen fibers around the area in a new and effective way. The client will feel new ease and improvement in formerly painful areas.

Aromatherapy uses essential oils (extracted from herbs, flowers, resin, woods, and roots) in body and skin care treatments. Carefully chosen and mixed, the scents make a direct link via the primary olfactory cortex to the deepest emotional and memory roots of the brain, the amygdala and the hippocampus. These aromas enhance relaxation and stress relief, allowing healing.

Sound Therapy uses sound (music, tones, vibrations, etc.) as a tool for healing, enabling the realignment of natural body rhythms. Therapy may include, but is not limited to, the use of crystal singing bowls, chimes, acutonic tuning forks, and drumming.

Raindrop Therapy helps to correct defects in the curvature of the spine caused by viruses and bacteria that lie dormant there. Antimicrobial essential oils are used to reduce inflammation by killing the viral agents, bringing the body into structural and electrical alignment.

Herbal Poultice/Thai Tea Treatment is a deep heat medicinal muscle treatment which dates back to 14th century Thailand. It used steamed packs of herbs which are applied to the body to soothe aches and pains. There is an additional charge of $20 for this service (product).

Energy Work

Energetic Healing Approaches include many different modalities of healing that work subtly on your body’s energy systems. Isabelle provides a variety of systems of Reiki, including: Usui System of Natural Healing, Karuna Reiki, and Shamballa Multi-Dimensional Healing.

Reiki, a therapy with Buddhist roots, teaches that disease is not separate from the body; it is the body out of balance. The therapist, using breathing and focus, can open the flow of energy within the body, align energy centers and enhance the body’s natural healing power.

Integrated Energy Therapy ® (IET) supports you in safely and gently releasing limiting energy patterns of your past, empowering and balancing your life in the present, and helps you bring about the joys of your future.

Lyme Magnetic Protocol Therapy The Lyme Magnetic Protocol Therapy is a unique and powerful treatment modality that targets the symptoms of Lyme disease and tick borne infection. In theory, a biological frequency is created by the placement of positive and negative magnetic pairs on the body in specific locations and patterns. This magnetic resonance then changes the body's susceptibility to bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic infections. The pathogen then dies off or is not recognized by the body as a problem. In turn, inflammation in the body is decreased, organ function is restored, energy is balanced, and vitality resumes, thus allowing the body to heal itself naturally, as it should.
